New 2012 wedding pricing

I just posted the new pricing for weddings in 2012.

You can find it on this page.

Please remember,  I do limit my wedding list to only 10 or 12 per year, and we’ve already got three weddings on the books for 2012.

Anna and David

Anna and David’s wedding is another one from our archives. Special thanks to my friend Rich Walton for helping with the photography on this one.

Anna and David chose The French Lick Resort for their reception. The wedding was held at the small Catholic church in downtown French Lick. I love small churches. They have wonderful character, and (usually) lots of stained glass or ornate woodwork (or both). This church was perfect! Except for the squeaky floorboards. Rich and I really had to tread lightly during the ceremony to keep our noise to the bare minimum so as to not distract from the event. One rule I have for myself is to treat all ceremonies with respect – but especially when we are in church setting, the ceremony is a worship service and needs to be treated as such.

The day was beautiful for Anna and David, the weather  was gorgeous and even the classic automobile that took them from the church to the reception (the groomsmen had to pick Anna up and deposit here into the rear “jump seat”).

Lindsee and Jason

Lindsee and Jason’s was a fun wedding. They lived across the street from us, and we got to know them pretty well. I was excited when they selected me to photograph the memories of their special day.

So, it was a great day when Jason proposed in their kitchen, as Lindsee was doing something very domestic (i forget if it was getting the trash ready to go out or something more exciting like getting a bowl of ice cream)! This shows that any moment can be the right moment for dedicating your life to someone, when the right person is in front of you.

Their ceremony was at the Morningstar Wedding Chapel in Plainfield IN. This is nice little small town church converted to a wedding chapel.

We did a quick trip to Friendship Park before and after the ceremony for portraits and family photos. Then headed to the Eagles Lodge, also in Plainfield. The reception was great fun. Of course, we had the obligatory cake smushing, which ended up with Lindsee having cake up her nose. The question is who smooshed first? Watch the slideshow and find out.

We’ve got photos on our facebook page as well

Jacki & Kevin

Jacki & Kevin

Jacki and Kevin chose a secluded area of Eagle Creek Park on the west side of Indianapolis for their wedding ceremony. Their reception was hosted by their matron of honor and her husband, outside of their home. This wedding, while simple in nature, show-cased the love of not only Kevin and Jacki- but also showed the love of their family and friends for the happy couple.

Kevin also has a love of the Star Wars universe and presented his groomsmen with replica light sabers, which made for some interesting photos of the guys! (see the photos after the jump for the Light Saber duel!)

Rebecca & Luke

Rebecca & Luke

I’ve been going back through my hard drives to find some of my favorite weddings, and this one jumped out at me.

Rebecca and Luke were married about 5 years ago at their family’s church in Broad Ripple, with their reception at one of my favorite venues evah! the Fountain Square Theater! (Partially because my cousin Michael used to bar tend there on the weekends! – but, it’s also a REALLY cool venue with a great staff).

Plus, Rebecca selected one of my most fav Wedding Coordinators: Michele Rogers with Accolade of London. Michele and her crew did an awesome job keeping the day running smoothly. It’s always a pleasure to work with a professional coordinator who understands how all of the other wedding professionals work on the day. Michele does this very well, and helped to make my job more pleasurable that day. Of course, having a bride and groom who were fun and excited that day helped greatly as well!

Here are some of the images from the day.

Amantha & Rob

Amantha & Rob

This is one of those weddings that photographers pray for. Rob and Amantha have a love story for the ages.

Physically, they are a study in opposites: Rob is tall and husky, Amantha is petite – but their personalities mesh sooooo well! To top it off, we’ve developed a great friendship.

When we met for the initial “Will they hire Troy?” meeting, we talked for almost 3 hours. I closed the evening saying something like, let me know as soon as you decide who you want to photograph your wedding. They headed out to the car. Two minutes later, the doorbell rang again. Rob was there and said “We decided. You’re the photographer!” That really made my evening!

They had a wonderful wedding day. Rob’s mother is a florist and outdid herself decorating the Chapel and the ballroom at The Ritz Charles in Carmel.

The day was filled with super special moments, but my favorite by far was the first time Rob saw Amantha in her wedding dress. They had decided to share a special moment together before their ceremony, and then get the posed group portraits made so they would have the rest of the day for relaxed fun with their family and friends.

Rob didn’t appear nervous at all that day, until we had him stand near the front of the chapel, with his back to the door where Amantha would enter. Here’s one photo from that moment.
